Note: This course is actually a self-paced virtual classroom offering. The average time to complete the course is 40 hours. Once you have registered you will have 60 days to complete this course.

Explore the new administration features in WebSphere Application Server (WAS) Version 5 (V5) Network Deployment edition. Using your WAS V3.5 or V4.0 administration knowledge transition your skills to perform equivalent administration tasks for WAS V5.0 and deploy Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) applications. Learn how to install and configure WAS V5, how to enable security, and what security features are available. Learn to monitor resource usage and troubleshoot deployed applications. Complete extensive hands-on labs throughout this course. Utilize Windows 2000 to perform hands-on exercises, however, the skills and concepts you learn apply to other operating systems, including AIX and Solaris. Review the differences between Win2000 and other platforms during the lectures.

This course does not cover programming of Java servlets, JavaServer Pages (JSPs) or Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB). You can acquire those skills by attending our other WebSphere, Java, and WebSphere Studio Application Developer series of courses.
