The Upgrading Symantec Backup Exec 11d to 12 course is designed for experienced Backup Exec users who are upgrading from version 11d to version 12. This 2-day, instructor-led, hands-on class covers the key differences in the product. Students will receive an overview of the product and learn how to upgrade from version 11d to version 12. Students will also learn about some of the new functionality available for Backup Exec 12, such as integration with Symantec EndPoint Protection and the Agent for Enterprise Vault. Finally, students will learn about enhancements that have been made to some of the other Backup Exec 12 agents and options, including the Active Directory Recovery Agent, the Desktop and Laptop Option, and the Continuous Protection Server Option.

Describe new features and functionality available in Backup Exec 12.
Upgrade Backup Exec from version 11 to 12.
Integrate the Symantec Protection Network and

Who Should Attend
This course is for system administrators, system engineers, technical support personnel, consultants, network administrators, backup administrators, backup operators, and others who are responsible for installing/upgrading, configuring, and administering Backup Exec.
Prerequisites
You should have working knowledge of administration and configuration of the Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 platforms, and you should have experience configuring server software and hardware. Knowledge of domain security and experience with Active Directory, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista are recommended. Knowledge of MS-SQL Server is beneficial, but not necessary.
Hands-On
This course includes practical exercises that enable you to test your new skills and begin to transfer them into your working environment. Additionally, assessment items at the end of each lesson test your knowledge and comprehension of the information provided.
