IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) is a powerful event management and automation application. Examine advanced TEC rule development using the TEC rules language and address numerous features that currently are not documented. Through hands-on lab activities, learn about the building blocks of programming rules and how to perform file input, output, string manipulation, and develop your own custom templates. Also, learn best practices on rules development.

Prerequisites:

You should complete:

• IBM Tivoli Infrastructure 4.1 (TM160) or
• Tivoli Management Framework 3.7 (TM150)
• IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) 3.8 (TM090)
• Programming Rules for IBM Tivoli Enterprise Console 3.8 (TM210)

or possess the equivalent technical background. You should also be familiar with a text editor, and have experience with a programming language, such as Restructured Extended Executor Language (REXX), Prolog, or shell scripting. This course builds on concepts learned in TM210.
