Description:

This course teaches how to use the IBM Rational Portfolio Manager and IBM Rational ClearQuest integration to adopt better governance practices through more detailed project tracking without making significant changes to existing processes and practices. You will learn how to configure the integration which will allow for the synchronization of updates between the products through lectures and hands-on labs.

This is a basic course for administrators, project managers and practitioners

Objectives:

This course focuses on the learning needs of Administrators and Project Managers within Rational Portfolio Manager and Practitioners within Rational ClearQuest.  After completing this course:

Administrators will be able to use RPM to:

• Configure CQ for this integration
• Complete the mapping profile between CQ and RPM

Project Managers will be able to use RPM to:

• Select a mapping profile to use for proposals and projects
• Analyze unscheduled CQ assignments
• Plan tasks from existing CQ records
• View and track project status

Practitioners will be able to use CQ to:

• Query and view assignments
• Update task state

You should complete previous Rational Web-based Training:

• Getting Started with IBM Rational Portfolio Manager (PRJ030)
• Getting Started with Rational ClearQuest (SCM010)
