Troubleshooting with Sniffer® InfiniStreamTM

Overview:

Troubleshooting with Sniffer InfiniStream introduces networking professionals to Network General’s InfiniStream, which allows them to troubleshoot data traversing high-speed Gigabit and fast Ethernet networks. This two-day introductory course enables participants to maximize their investment in InfiniStream by teaching them to mine data efficiently and configure the engine to best suit their needs.

Description:

Participants learn to:

• Define terms specific to InfiniStream

• Select and retrieve data using InfiniStream Network Management Console’s Quick Select

• Reduce Mean-Time to Resolution by using Quick Select filters

• Analyze data using the Sniffer Expert Analyzer

• Configure the InfiniStream Capture Engine using ICESETUP

• Effectively position InfiniStream Capture Engines to maximize visibility into the network and its applications

• Monitor the InfiniStream Capture Engine using ICEMON

• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on the InfiniStream Capture Engine

Required prerequisites:

• Network Analysis and Troubleshooting (TRN-101-TCL)

• Students must have a working knowledge of LAN technologies and topologies, the OSI reference model, and the function of network devices
