Description:

IBM Lotus Expeditor is an end-to-end environment that includes a server; a universal client for desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile devices; and a toolkit. It is an open standards SOA platform used to build, deploy and manage composite applications that can access multiple data sources all at the client.

This workshop covers Lotus Expeditor fundamentals for the toolkit and for the desktop and device runtime environments.

Note: This course is a self-paced virtual classroom offering. Once you have registered, you will have 90 days to complete this course.

Audience:

This is a basic course for application developers.

Objectives:

Upon completion of course, you should be able to:

  • How to design, build, deploy and maintain sophisticated solutions that can adapt to desktop and mobile clients across network conditions that are in support of SOA applications
  • How to build or extend existing applications and enterprise information systems to desktop clients and mobile devices that are not always connected
  • How to use the Eclipse rich client platform to plug in applications and enable new mobile application development
  • How to plan deployments to include security, application management, connectivity and data synchronization

Prerequisites:

You should have:

  • Good technical understanding of Internet concepts
  • A general understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, systems and languages, particularly Java technology
  • Also helpful, but not required:Some understanding of basic database concepts; Familiarity with the Rational Application Developer (or Eclipse) development environment; Familiarity with the WebSphere Application Server programming model, specifically servlets and JSPs; Familiarity with the Eclipse programming model
