Overview:

The course introduces you to the Cisco® Carrier Routing System (CRS) platform and its features and functions and then builds on that information by strengthening your understanding of the platform. You will learn both technology and features of certain elements of the platform in order to build your understanding of the benefits of choosing the CRS. Most of the course is specifically designed with clear, task-oriented, specific objectives built around job functions. Review questions and lab exercises are intended to demonstrate your ability to use the knowledge and skills gained during this course to perform measurable tasks.

Students are required to bring their own laptop and Ethernet cable to class.

• Install Cisco IOS XR Software, package information envelopes (PIEs), and software maintenance updates (SMUs)
• Configure the new Cisco IOS XR Software security features (focus on differences from Cisco IOS Software)
• Configure routing protocols in a complex multi-autonomous system environment (focus on differences from Cisco IOS Software)
• Enable Multicast routing on Cisco IOS XR Software platforms (focus on differences from Cisco IOS Software)
• Configure Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) on the Cisco IOS XR Software platform (focus on differences from Cisco IOS Software)
• Convert existing route map configurations using new Route Policy Language (RPL)
• Use the Craft Works Interface (CWI) to configure, view, and check configurations and obtain alarm status of CRS nodes
• Troubleshoot basic CRS hardware and software problems
