Description:

Target Audience:
Advanced Users - This course is designed for the product's power user who has 2 + years of experience in a production environment.

Course Abstract:
This class focuses on Web Access Manager (WAM), and a new optional companion product, Identity Federation Manager (IFM). WAM can be installed as a standalone application or as a component of Suite 5.5. You will learn about the differences between a standalone and Suite 5.5 implementation of WAM, including a discussion of WAM functionality that overlaps with other Suite 5.5 components.

WAM training in this course encompasses basic and advanced topics. The first day covers standalone installation and configuration of WAM using an Active Directory instance, including the installation of enforcement agents. Next, you will create users, organizations, and roles; define resources; and provide access to these resources through roles. WAM-delegated administration functionality, through which users are assigned detailed user and resource management capabilities, is covered in the next section. Advanced topics include command line installation of WAM, installation and configuration of the WAM log collector, discussion of the WAM API, implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO) and installation of SSO modules, migration of WAM from previous versions, and WAM troubleshooting.

IFM is an optional add-on to WAM, which can be implemented with a Suite or as a standalone installation of WAM. In addition, IFM can be installed as a standalone application without WAM. IFM provides the functionality required to regulate access to an organization’s internal resources by external parties, using various industry-standard conceptual models. This course provides an overview of Federation models and the functionality of IFM.
