BMC CONTROL-M and BMC CONTROL-M/Restart Basic

Overview:

This course is designed to give the student a working knowledge of BMC CONTROL-M, Job Scheduling and Production Control System, and BMC CONTROL-M/Restart, an automated Job Restart system.

Target Audience 
New Users - This course is an introductory course designed to teach basic concepts and familiarize the student with the functionality of the product.
 
Course Abstract:
 This course is designed to give the student a working knowledge of BMC CONTROL-M, Job Scheduling and Production Control System, and BMC CONTROL-M/Restart, an automated Job Restart system. Students will learn how to define Job Scheduling parameters to BMC CONTROL-M, track jobs in the BMC CONTROL-M environment, as well as identify and solve problems in the Production environment. Emphasis is placed on the student learning how to code and monitor schedules effectively. Students may be anyone who works in a data center and is interested in BMC CONTROL-M and BMC CONTROL-M/Restart.

    * How they work and what they do
    * How schedules are created
    * What the key parameters mean
    * How to monitor schedules
    * What is group scheduling and how to use it effectively
    * System and user utilities
    * The daily job flow process
    * How a job gets scheduled automatically
    * What is a user daily
    * What are AutoEdits and how to use them effectively
    * What is CONTDAY

# Define jobs to BMC CONTROL-M
# Define and monitor the production environment, using input and display screens
# Define automatic rerun/restart
# Use dates and calendars, run-time scheduling, and post-processing
# Use processing dates
# Use AutoEdit commands
# Control your Production environment from the BMC CONTROL-M active screen
# BMC Control-M Restart, including:

    * Implementation suggestions
    * How BMC Control-M/Restart works with real-world exercises
    * Some of the benefits of BMC Control-M/Restart
    * How to take advantage of some of the features without impacting your data center
