BEA WebLogic Server 9/10: Advanced System Administration

Description:

This course trains senior system administrators and senior data center personnel on advanced topics surrounding the monitoring and maintenance of BEA WebLogic Server 10. It teaches the student how to use command-line utilities to monitor, maintain, and optimize BEA WebLogic Server 10 domains. The student will also be able to create advanced security and messaging configurations.

• Use the advanced security features of BEA WebLogic Server
• Configure complex Java Messaging Service (JMS) systems
• Automate tasks in BEA WebLogic Server using Java Management Extensions (JMX) and WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST)
• Understand the WebLogic Diagnostic Framework (WLDF) architecture
• Use the Work Manager to optimize performance

Objectives:

• Understand MBeans and the architecture of the JMX design
• Write WLST scripts
• Write Ant scripts to leverage WLST
• Write Java classes that access MBeans
• Understand the impact of Work Managers on the performance of applications deployed on BEA WebLogic Server
• Understand the fundamentals of BEA WebLogic Server Diagnostics Framework
• Configure the embedded Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server and a new security realm
• Configure non-default security providers including the Relational Database Management System (RDMS) provider,Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) credential mapping provider
• Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) credential mapping provider
• Secure WebLogic resources through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
• Create and configure store-and-forward agents
• Configure Unit of Order and Path Service
• Use transactions with JMS
• Configure a messaging bridge between WebLogic JMS and MQSeries or third-party JMS servers such as JBoss
