Description:

The student will be exposed to the entire suite of MapGuide products and how they interrelate. This course is geared for the GIS/Mapping professional or technician with web technology background. MapGuide product training is a process-oriented course that will allow the student to build a mapping project throughout the course. The student will also set up a server to distribute maps over the Internet/intranet. Features of the product are approached with practical application as the case basis.

Describe the suite of Autodesk MapGuide products and how they interrelate
Install, configure and administer Autodesk MapGuide Server
Issue security and resource limits
Administer ODBC configurations
Scale the server processes
Create and publish Autodesk MapGuide MWF files and administer SDF
Describe and practice the principles of data modeling and Cartography using Autodesk MapGuide Author
Convert data from AutoCAD Map, create Zoom Go To definitions and custom pop-up menus
Author maps from remote clients and incorporate a projection system
Display data through thematic maps and define/generate reports
